One man's meat and all that. Rent for about 83 days (a week short of your 90/180 for unexpected problems), get yourself out and about, live as a resident and not a tourist. If you like Sax you will have time to visit other areas once you are here permanently.

I agree with Flyingduck. What anyone else might like/dislike, you might not.
The only way is to try it and see for yourself.
If you think about it, a 3 month stay is a good idea, because not only do you find out if you like an area, but you find out exactly what you want and don't want re quiet/boisterous, distance to facilities, buses etc.
I can talk though. I'd never even been to mainland Spain before last year. We viewed 5 properties and chose the one that was head and shoulders better than the rest and bought it. I've always been the impetuous sort.
But we came over from the off thinking that it was to ultimately live in and not just use as a holiday home.
It has some negatives, in that parking is poor and facilities are a bit further than we'd like, but it also has some good plus points, like a bus stop literally 100 metres away and the hospital is a couple of minutes drive.
These are things we never really thought about before buying.
Mind you, anywhere in the vast majority of Spain is probably better than English big city suburbs. Birmingham in our case.

I think the first 2 replies are assuming you are a non resident? You are under the Guardamar site, do you stay there or have a holiday home? I don’t stay in Sax but just next to it in Salinas. Sax seems nice to me with everything you need. ‘Villas’ will be the best on the site to answer your question I would have thought.

Its worth looking at Sax digital site. & info offered on Sax ayutamiento site for general info. (also some of Real Estate agencies cover general information on this area.
If the OP wishes to contact me by private message, I can offer local advice as I have been here for 25yrs.

I used to live in Monovar, I regularly visited Sax, plenty of bars, cafès and shops, the locals were always friendly, it all depends what you're looking for.
