Hi, I am sorry to hear you have been robbed. Thank you for letting all of us know so we can all be more aware. I am not English. The English are far too polite not ever be rude to others. If a strange person approaches me, I start shouting when I to go away because I do not know him. I have learned to be tough in the army and I consider only my safety and not of being helpful to everyone. When I first arrived to the UK in 1962 when I saw something interesting with someone, I used to stare to see what is going on with this person. English always told me it is rude to stare. I always have said I am blessed with eyes and no one is telling me not to use them. This is what I am doing when I suspect someone to be doggy. I hope most of decent English people will be less polite and more safe. Regards Luna

I know how you feel...but hopefully in your case police will do something..?

My friend's bag was stolen (with all money, phone passport etc).in one of the Alicante restaurant, police done absolutely nothing!(even though I said exactly how the man and the woman looked like and the camera was right in the front of the restaurant)

Very stressful incident ,not mention she  came with me to visit Elda /Alicante......

After this I am VERY aware of any stranger talking to me,or distracting me...

Wishing you all the best

They will pick on the wrong person someday , would give good money to be there and see the outcome.

Just wondering if anybody has ever had the Spanish police successfully follow up on this or any similar crime and if there was a return of goods or prosecution

Yes, we manage to get everything back except the cash and my watch, but unfortunately we had to cancel our travel documents as they were out of our possession, and could have been used on the black market.
