Just a thought or two.

Whilst reading the news of the week (Brexit aside), Earthquakes, airing one´s dirty washing in public, being stung by wasps, bees or the Banks. Then there was the big “crystal ball question” about exchange rates GBP/Euro! You must remember, if a fortune-teller could foretell the future of finance

you´d have reached a happy medium.

Incidentally, Why do you need to make an appointment with a psychic?

Anyway, April fool´s day came & went, Many little jolly japes on the forum & in the UK press. I only fell for one!….. The story about Uber, introducing into it´s app, the pogo-stick! There again, I´m sometimes gullible. Now there´s a word in common usage, which appears in no dictionary whatsoever!

Jim´s tall story about a cup of tea was hard to swallow.

Our next pranks-chance (in Spain) will be December 28th, Dia de los Santos Inocentes.

Anyway, back to my thoughts. I was sitting in the sunshine (at last) thinking about time, money etc. & was reflecting on how often the terms Million(s), billion(s) etc are used in the press with regard to Deficits, contributions (to EU for example) or even brain cells.

Do we all realize, (if nothing better to do), that if we started counting in seconds, it would take about 11 ½ days to get to a million.

Then if you wanted to get to a billion, now that´s around 32 years. (big difference!)

Now a trillion! that´s about 32,000 years.

Just a thought. I must get on. The girlfriend asked me what I was doing today. I said, “nothing”.

She said, “But you did nothing yesterday!”

I said, “Yes, I know, I hadn´t finished.”

Enjoy the rest of the week all. & remember the Brexit bus.

Looks like Transport For London has gone to the dogs ( not the Isle Of Dogs ) since the election of a Labour Mayor, the bus would never have got in that state with Boris at the wheel.

Villas,

Thank you for yet another round up of what's hot topic on the forum so far this week.

I loved the pic of the old bus and was wondering if you sourced it from one of the old bus sites.

If you did Its just the TICKET  !

Your mention of the fortune teller thread reminded me of when I once heard of a diminutive tarot reader who had been arrested for being a fake but had escaped custody.

The Headline in the newspaper read  "  Small Medium at Large "  !

On to your description of how you were fascinated by numbers, well really all I can say to that Villas is I've told you a MILLION times not to exaggerate! 😀

Keep up the good work 👍

LeckyLes.
