Hi we are hoping to move to Spain next year is it better to have a Spanish will or a UK can anyone give us a idea which is best

We were advised to have the Spanish one for your Spanish assets and a UK one for your UK assets and to be clear on the scope of each.

Be careful making a will in Spain go to a Abogado
for example
I understand the basic Spanish Will divides the estate of the deceased equally between the surviving spouse or partner and the couples children ( unless you state otherwise!! )

Hi,

When we moved to Spain 16 years ago, we were advised to have 2 Wills , one for our UK assets , and another for our Spanish assets.

I've yet to realize if there are any differences since Brexit

we came here in 2005 too and like you we have UK and a Spanish Will

i intend to have chat with our abogada soon regarding any post Brexit changes
