Hi there,

The problematic purchase of our dream holiday home comes to an end this Tuesday when we fly out to complete and receive the keys.

We booked an Ikea delivery on the 8th but have been informed that they can't fulfil the delivery slot as it's a bank holiday. This has caused a real headache as the everything to make it habitable such as beds, utensils etc are included in the order.

We have been in contact with a few companies but have still to confirm availability so we're starting to run out of time.

Does anyone have a trustworthy man with a van contact that we could contact for availability to collect a click and collect order from Ikea Murcia.

Many thanks,

Joyce

Hello

Be aware that both 6th & 8th Dec are Spanish  National holidays ( red days) when most places are closed  ....either side of those days it is always busy - everywhere, as its  basically a 3 day week.

Cheers

Have you checked that the store is actually open on the 8th, as it is a bank holiday and may well be closed and this not accessible for the man in a van to collect anyway?

Hi we discovered this after booking our flights - clearly we still have a bit to learn about spanish life! As we arrive (with our toddler!) on the 6th will there be any shops at all open in or around Sax?

We booked flights arriving on 6th, booked the Ikea order and it gave us the option to book 8th then cust service emailed us a week later to say they were rescheduling due to the holiday. We don't specifically need it on the 8th - it can be any day we are there but ideally near the beginning of the break so we are perhaps best aiming for 7th to avoid these holidays.

Hi, please check the insurance with however you select. Some only have a very small limit per item, which will not cover the damage to new items. Just a thought it may not happen but it’s best to check their liability and limits.
