No need for a licence to buy. Just advertise here on the forum "gas bottle wanted" They cost around €10/15. Then you can just exchange it at the ironmongers or a petrol station.

Two points.

A) legal contract required for combi boilers etc.(by law)........

B) If you want a gas bottle, (Rastro) (car boot in Salinas every Sunday)

8€.. (offer 5€) they´ll snatch you hand off!

It's been claimed that just saying its for a BBQ is enough to bypass the licence or certificate problem.

I´ve never said anything.....

Take empty...... pay for new (full) (talking of Repsol ....many garage & local outlets.....)  19 years, nobody´s ever questioned. ( & why should they?)

Get hold of empty bottle(s) and forget about the rest.

In theory......... Refer to advice above. Rastro Salinas on Sunday 👍. . If in doubt consult proffesional. As RayD sez....for normal apliences. Buy, connect & go! V.

Me too Ray, I don´t want my home insurer finding a way to refuse a claim should something happen.

I agree with Villas. Just go to the Salinas rastro on a Sunday morning and pick one up. Take it to your local garage and swap it for a full one. You can get Repsol and Cepsa in Sax, your choice. The same reg. fits both propane or butane unlike the UK.

No one will know or care where it came from.

They only possible long term snag could be that without getting a contract with the bottle provider in the first place there will be no way to get the deposit returned if you decide to give up the bottle.
