We use Banco Sabadell for our current account and Direct Debits and are happy with their services, however when we lived in the UK we always had a second account which probably served as a savings account.

Can anyone recommend a bank which would accept us without wanting the direct debits etc.  We have always felt it was safer to have an alternative bank just in case  an imbargo should happen to be placed on the main account for whatever reason.

Thanks for any advice.

I suggest you look at the online accounts offered by Cajamar and CaixaBank.

Many thanks Jim,

When we bought our holiday apartment many years ago, we signed up to Banco Cajamurcia which I believe was a ‘savings bank’ this was taken over by BMN then Bankia a bank we found a little difficult to deal with.

We had considered Cajamar and our friends who returned to the uk used Caixabank, so it is good to read your advice, thank you.
