Hello

We are planning a two day trip to Valencia, staying overnight and doing the touristy bit. It has been suggested that we get the train into the centre of Valencia rather than driving. Has anyone done this and are there any recommendations for hotels outside central Valencia with access to the train or Metro?

Any information would help, thank you.

Hi  Another option to consider is Davids Coaches or Rosa Tours they do trips and will take the stress out of travelling, check out their websites, enjoy what ever you do  Gillian

Hi

When we went to Valencia, I drove to Xeraco train station and parked on a nearby street (it's an industrial estate with lots of free parking). There is a train roughly every hour that takes you to the main station in Valencia, and nearby hotels are easily found online.

It was very straightforward.

Cheers

We have done this a couple of times, but we drove all the way. We booked an hotel just on the edge of the city, within walking distance, long walk! , of the Oceanographic Institute and the famous galleries etc there. We stayed in the Hotel Rey Jaime, not expensive, perfectly good standard business type hotel . They have an on-site car park under the building, chargeable daily but not outrageous. Within a few minutes walk is a main bus line taking you to the centre of Valencia for a couple of euros, frequent service. One day we took a taxi to the Oceanographic, due to a friend with walking difficulties, 6 euros 4 people.

Plenty of bars and eating places in hotel vicinity, bear in mind this is traditional Spain, nothing much open before 8 pm, which doesn’t bother us, but may do others.

Son came over to visit in November and stayed here

https://www.hotelvalencialasarenas.com/en/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=my_business

It was the cheapest hotel he could find in the city.

It's right on the beach, buses stop outside and metro only a few minutes walk.

Best to rent/hire a car from the airport.  ClickRent Valencia <<https://clickrent.es >>  Remember to take your driving licence with you.
Accommodation: Albatros hotel is OK; open in the season - from April onwards.  <<https://hotel-albatros.com//new/ >>  Parking is about €7.50euros per day.  It is round the corner from the Carrefour shopping centre so you can easily purchase some food and drinks; it is in walking distance to the beach. They served us at the very last minute and the receptionist waited for us because our flights were delayed.  They have free wifi.  They do NOT have a printer.  Make sure your hotel has free wifi, a computer and a printer, so you can print out your QR codes for your flight tickets and your PCR negative test.

Gandia is easy for people with reduce mobility with lots of places of interest to explore and relax.  Gandia also has some libraries/biblioteeks with computer facilities, wifi, and a printer so you can print out your QR flight ticket codes and your PCR negative tests.  Just remember your computer passwords and logins.  Gmail accounts work fine.  Alternative solution to get all your paperwork processed is to arrive very early to drop off your ClickRent car (they have a shuttle bus service that takes you to the airport - 20 minutes drive) and then arrive early at Valencia airport and ask the airline staff to help you process all your documents required for your flight.  Sometimes your GSMs/cellphones/mobiles and computer devices might not work.
