Antibiotics

Recently a lot of antibiotics have been put on prescription only.

You can't get strong antibiotics or pain killers over the counter as easily as you were able.

You might be lucky and find a Farmacia that will be willing to serve you but they are few and far between.

I agree with Steve, in my own experience (in Torrevieja city & some area)s it is no longer possible to buy without prescription.  I was trying for myself a couple of months ago but , unsuccessful

Hi the pharmacy at the roundabout at the the end of Cabo Roig strip still sells them without a prescription. You need to know exactly what you want including the doesage. I got Amoxicillin 500mg tablets last week. Hope this helps.

It won't help the Farmacia if they get into trouble for bending the rules.......

It might be best to private message members instead of making them public on an open forum...

They are not as you put it bending the rules. They do not provide advise so they stay within the rules. Check your facts before posting.

Hi, also, suggest one reads on EU, Europe regs ("bending" rules) regarding antibiotics ( & advice re: it's over-use). "healthplanspain.com" is a reasonable site & (tebo53) also explains.

You're correct, Ian, they're not bending the rules - they're breaking the law.

I think Steve's warning was sensible and well-intentioned - I don't think he's suggesting that you shouldn't provide the information at all, just that it would be wiser to share it via private message.
