Are you sure that your air-con needs a recharge - if it does then it means you have a leak in the system? If you don’t find and repair the leak, any new gas will slowly leak back out, resulting in the same scenario again

If u r talking home air-con (as opposed to car) agree with above. My invertor unit installed 14 yrs ago. Never a problem. Villas

Yes, I was referring to a domestic installation, not vehicle type - which are prone to leaks and just get topped up, without identifying hte reason!

Makes my blood boil with all these garages and mechanics offering air-con gas top-ups - and not fixing the cause of the original gas leaking into the atmosphere... Same thing happens again and again, if this was controlled and actioned properly the greenhouse emission gases would see a great improvement, and climate change would not be as rapid as it is now...

Then again, Mr Trump doesn't think the Yanks should bother, so wont make much different in the long run
