Advice on things to do trips etc torre de la horradada

Hi I'm joining friends mid September in a private apartment 20 september for a week. Never been before . They have. They sunbathe but my husband and I like to see a bIt of where we go on holiday. Could anyone please advise on anywhere we should see or any trips we could take whilst there?looks as if old benidorm is far without car, we like to see history ,culture or pretty areas of countries we visit rather than constantly sitting by pool thanks xx
