As we weren't confident we used an English based company called Spanish Tax Forms Ltd, you send them your details and they email back the completed forms that you print and take to the Bank to pay, they are very helpful and only charge around 35€, much less than your Solicitor would charge, Google their website, now we know what we need this year we can do it ourselves. The Tax is based on the Castral Value of your property so without knowing that I cannot say what the amount would be.

If you bought your property in 2018 you will not be liable to pay Non Resident Tax until December 2019 as you pay then for the previous year and you will then be liable from the date of your purchase until 31/12/2018.

Thanks John

When I bought the property the lawyer told me that value was 80.000,- but do you know where to see that Castral Value, the marked value was less that 80.000,- and I only paid ITV of the purchase price.

You should find the Castral Value in the Habitation Certificate that is part of the Deeds for your property that you should have received a copy of. Failing that your nearest Suma Office would be able to advise, not sure of your location, living in La Zenia mine is in Playa Flamenca in the street leading down to the Town Hall.

I posted about the company after swapping a few emails with them and also doing some online research. I only found good reports, and was impressed with the manner in which my emails were answered:

There's an online guide to DIY on our sister forum:

Yes Angar services were excellent. Andy who runs the company is extremely efficient. I would definitely recommend him.
