Hi, I Wonder if there was a pay card for local buses in Torrevieja available for other than locals. I use the bus regularly, but playing with cash/coins is a bit tricky, as you have to pay quite precisely. Some drivers won't even accept 5€ bills. Have heard rumours, that a pre-loadable card should exist. Have asked for sthing like "mobility" from three different bus drivers, and showed the place where people swipe their cards, but no success. I don't speak spanish. Does anyone know anything abt this? Thx

Tarjeta Bus ( as opposed to Tarjeta Cuidadano, which is for those on Padron) is available from either the bus station in Torrevieja or from the bus driver. The card costs €2 and can be loaded with either €10 or €20 and recharged as necessary. This card then lets you use the bus for 85cents as opposed to €1.55 . If your spanish is not good just present €12 or €22 and ask for Tarjeta Bus

Ok, thanks. This encourages me to continue the trials. Also visited earlier the bus station, but did not find any office or similar there. On the gate there was a sign prohibiting pedestrians inside. Outside the yard I found a kiosk, but they were not sellling anything related to buses. Maybe there's an entrance I did not recognize. I'll have another look.

Thanks for your Support!

That gate you mention is the entrance gate for buses. If you continue past the tobacco shop and round the corner you will see a taxi rank and a small cafe and shop. If you continue into the station there are various kiosks for the different bus lines that service the station. You need the AVANZA/Costa Azul window.

Hello

You arelooking in the wrong place, the main bus station in Torrevieja is opposirte Mercadona & there are ticket windows on the right. Many of the staff  & dsrivers only speak Spanish with minimum English  so be prepared.

Cheers

I think you are wrong there, elinspain. The gate that I have marked on the map, the Bus entrance, has clear signs stating danger and not for pedestrians, and is just right of Patricio Zammit/Antonio Machado junction, and about 50m before the new mercadona on Antonia Machado. The entrance that you allude to (in order for kiosks to be on the right) is the entrance off Call De Mar

Hello

People flock through that main gate, including me ,having exited the many other buses that stop opposite...... the ticket offices are still on the right.

If a bus is passing through you can walk to the right hand .   After 20years Ive never seen anyone told not to access the bus station from there by the security man

The side access is less visible from the main road as  it is set back  & you have to pass through all the tables/chairs of the adjoing cafe......Whichever is easier I suppose

Cheers

Does anyone know if there is a child fare and a child bus pass?

Also does each person need their own bus pass or could the same pass be used by 2 people travelling together?

Thank you
