Historically the Spanish property market is over saturated with available properties. Looking around Orihuela costa, new builders cranes are popping up. If all the properties were occupied full time, year around, the sewige would run down the streets, children will not have schools, hospitals would be overflowing, traffic would be almost static...It is just the system. It is easy for developers to aquire building plots even in eco sensitive areas, agricultural plots... And easy for us to buy a cheap property.

There are hundreds of  properties being built near Vistabella Golf  , that could explain it.

But developers do have to have a certain percentage of properties sold, before they even dig the footings.

I drive up there quite regularly and they have a couple of nice commercial centres, bars, restaurants a supermarket etc.  The only negative I would say is it’s a bit of a distance to the beach if you are looking for a holiday home.

The golf course is always busy, as it the bowling green and paddle courts.

I have lived here for nearly 20 years and there are certainly not many properties for sale other than the new ones being built. Properties rarely take long to sell here unless overpriced. A lot of people who have had holiday apartments sell and buy a quad as they get nearer to retirement age, I have never spoken to anyone who has regretted buying here.

There are 3 buses a day but never when you want them. The biggest thing is that our medical Centre is at Torremendo 7 km away however plans have been passed to build one here but no idea when. There is a cash point but no bank, Los Montesinos is the nearest. There are numerous bars and restaurants and a fantastic golf course with live music on the terrace at least twice a week, there is also padel courts and bowls overlooking the mountains. There are many activities, crib, poker, snooker, fishing club, music bingo, walking football, slimming club, water aerobics, knit and crochet meetings and various other activities in different bars. The residents are lovely, many nationalities and everyone is very friendly. I would suggesting renting for a couple of weeks to see how you feel. It is very quiet here although plenty of people about, it doesn’t close down in the Winter.
