Hi Ivan83,

Friends of mine bought a French Bulldog from a "breeder" in Barcelona 3 years ago and paid €1,000 for him.  Unfortunately, this so-called "breeder" hadn't had the puppy vaccinated against Leishmaniasis, which it subsequently contracted and nearly died.  Their vet managed to save the puppy and he's a lovely dog, but he quite often has relapses, which are very unpleasant for the dog and the treatment is expensive.  As I'm sure you'll understand, I would not recommend this "breeder" and would advise you to be very careful about who you buy from.

Kind regards,

Kim

With respect, a puppy is not a consumer item, one doesn’t simply ‘order’ one online. Any reputable breeder will expect you to visit and see the animals with their mother, ask questions and also assure themselves that you will be an appropriate carer for your new companion.

If you were intending to make an extended visit to England to complete this process, bear in mind that the regulatory requirements for transporting an animal into Spain are likely to be amended due to Brexit. You will still be required to provide vaccination certificates and a ‘pet passport’, but this may prove more onerous.

Friends of mine own a French Bulldog, they are subject to many problems and currently is costing a fortune in veterinary bills.

If price is an issue then I would suggest that you choose another breed.

French Bulldogs are known for having many problems due to the over breeding of their short snouts. Please be aware of this as you may have high vet bill's in the future.

Why not look at dogs or puppies at shelters? There are so many looking for a loving home.

Please please choose wisely.
