Hi, assuming that you are travelling from the U.K, have a look here:

Hi I live in Ireland am moving to Spain I got quoted over 3000 euro to bring my German Shepherd on plane only Aer Lingus do it. I now have decided to drive. Ferry from Ireland to Cadiz with dog friendly cabin. Not sure of price yet it be lot cheaper. Plus my dog would panic being stuck in a crate on a plane. I know from UK you can go on ferry also to France with pets. I hope you get sorted please let us know how you get on. Good Luck.

So easy using Eurotunnel and as a stopover in France I use the Accor Group hotels, most welcome digs. I would recommend when in Spain finding a local vet and getting a pet passport. It cost us 50 euros including the mandatory rabies jab. You need tapeworm treatment every time you return with pooch to the UK. UK pet certificate is around £250 plus all the treatments need to be up to date. They only last 3 months the EU pet passport lasts the life of your pet. Another Brexit rip off as you can see if you regularly visit Spain the £250’s would soon mount up! Hope this helps.

In your case you’re lucky to be a European citizen so should be easy and less expensive. I was replying to Nawaar who I assumed like me was a UK resident and is likely to incur £250 a trip pet certificates plus all the ancillary vet costs.
Make your pet a EU pet, get a European pet passport and save some cash. Your pet will have more freedom of movement than any UK resident.

Hi thanks. It's the journey that is the problem we can't fly her costs 3000+ and only one airline do it. So we have to drive no other way round it. The ferry 24 hrs. Yes it is easier we have EU citizenship. Thanks for your comments.

This is all helpful to me as I bought my home Feb 2022 and want my Stafi with me as I'm lost without her.
Thanks for your guidance
