Hi everyone,

The Albergue Municipal de Animales Torrevieja (Municipal animal rescue centre), is urgently looking for volunteers to help out with the cattery ,feeding, cleaning and fussing the cats. We are overrun with cats and kittens who are all looking for a good home but we try to give them the best care we can whilst waiting for their forever home.

If you do have spare time and would like to help either pop in to the centre, which is open 9-1 and 4-6 daily, or contact me.

You can also find them on Facebook Concejalía de Proteccíon Animal de Torrevieja.

We also need dry and wet food for cats and kittens, cat litter and any donations are gratefully accepted. Appreciate that in these hard times money is tight but no harm in trying :)

as soon as i can get back to torrevieja (from UK) Id be delighted to come and help. Just need to wait until my insurance is valid (UK lifts its restrictions on travel to Spain) and Ill be over for a few weeks

Hi. I volunteered when I could over the two week Christmas period last year as I wasn't working and had time. I have spare time some days and would be happy to pop up and help out with the cats. I have 11 of my own and look after several colonies in town so am no stranger to cat care! I'll try to get up this week as I live very near.

Hi,

That's great , thanks sooo much. I'm there on Weds and Sun in the morning but as you've been there you probably know the people anyway. Maggie still runs the cattery so you could always contact her if you like.

Hi,

Could you try doing something similar to a go fund me page. Then people could give donations that way. I would be happy to donate.

I have bought some and will drop it off as soon as I can and I have posted the request on my face book page. Hopefully there will be some donations.

This has been suggested on another forum I posted on and is a good idea. Just have to check with the person in charge if and how we go about it. Thanks for the valuable input :)
