Bank ATM charges using a Wise Debit card.

Thanks to everyone who gave me information about using a bank in Spain if you don't live there.

I am looking at Wise bank, they certainly give the best exchange rates by far.

I am looking at applying for a debit card with WISE to use whilst I am in Spain. Can anyone give me an idea of the fees charged by Bank ATM's if I use a Wise debit card to withdraw Euros whilst in Spain. I know about the limits, but apparently each bank could charge differently for Euro cash withdrawals. Which is the best ATM to use and roughly how much are the charges to use the ATM please? Thank you.

Ken21, I started using Wise Debit this week, I had account with Bankia who use to charge me 14 euros a month plus 28 for debit card a year, went into bank today and closed the account. 😄I am not a resident here so not sure of ATM charges but Wise is 200 per month thereafter .50 cent per transaction. Also setup DD for electricity, going to pay taxes using wise as well and using to pay for shopping, contactless or pin number. Many members recommend wise in this forum, great saving and it works. I have a Wise account and debit card which is excellent but not for cash withdrawals at ATM's.

I was over in Spain last month and tried my Starling card in quite a few ATM's, charges varied between €3 to €7 for a €300 withdrawal.

The only ATM that we found that didn't charge was Deutsche bank at La Zenia roundabout....and that was out of action for several days.

Not sure of your exact location, have a look on this list, there aren't many of them around.

I used mine at Deutsche Bank La Zenia withdrew 200 no charge, I also used my starling there and again no charge.

The banks here do not all operate on the same ATM network. You have to use the machines on your own banks network not to incur charges. My bank has an app telling me which ATMs should (this is Spain) be free.
