Hi just wondering if anyone can shed any light on a deduction from my Caixa account. I have just opened the account and I am starting to load with funds for a property purchase. When I checked today there was a payment of 23 euro which said C.LIVING SOLUT.

Would be good to know what this was for.

Thanks

Den

This is the charge to enable you to open a non resident account in Spain and to apply for a mortgage if required. You can apply from your home country.

Not that, for any non resident account, you will be charged a quarterly fee.

Thanks the account was only set up a week ago and I just made my first deposit in. I will check with my lawyer as they set up the account. One of you suggestions will probably be right.

And with Caixabank, said charge is 60 Euro.

Speak to them about switching to a Hola account instead. The fees are 35 Euro.

CaixaBank give you a personal advisor, available via the app or online banking. The advisor is based in your particular branch. My experience on the couple of occasions when I have had need to contact them is that they respond and are extremely helpful. The first occasion was a little delayed in responding until the next day, but the last time, a few weeks ago was considerably more urgent for me and the response and help was extremely quick and thorough.

Hi,  that's really helpful to me as well as I was about to ask the same question, now I know.

One more yearly charge in March is CUOTA T. Debit for 36 Euro is that purely a service charge for the account on top of the non-resident costs ?

Cuota Tarjeta? Possibly annual charge for your bank card. Usually first named is free but they charge for a second card.

There is also a 2 yearly charge for declaring your status as a non resident.

They get you every way, don't they?

They do rip you off and that is quite annoying then.

Since the bank changed from Bankia to Caixa I have never had a card that works, despite several attempts to get it re-issued. Don't even have a second card and would never use it anyway.

I don't have another 2 yearly charge thankfully !
