Thank you for your reply but our money is already here in euros it just the amount santander is charging for a cheque to the notary which is my disgust. Regards

It was a Spanish buyer, Euros to Euros.

So the buyer didn't use a draft.

That’s what is annoying the euros are in the bank to be transferred on the day, I’m sure all will become clearer at a price.

Hi

Ive put my place up for sale, the estate agent told me they take 3% deposit from the buyer but that's not for debts, thats to secure the property then 10% the 3% if the buyer pulls out half goes to agent half to me, if they paid the 10% and pulled out then the 10% goes to me .

Admittedly it was 20 years ago but I paid cash on the day, at the office of the notario.

Thank you for replying, yes cash was in the days of black money and Notary bribes. Can’t do it now so the banks have you over a barrel

Thank you for your reply, I’m buying so that’s why I need the bankers cheque but you are quite correct re re the consequences of pulling out. Kind regards.

Have you recently purchased a house of flat? Next month I shall need to take a bankers draft or cheque from my bank account to the Notary for completion. The cheque amount will be 115,000. Santander are telling me the fee will be 0.65% i.e.747.50 euros to take my money out !!!! unless I take thei...

...r home insurance they may be able to reduce this to 0.55%.

I find this totally unbelievable surely I must have heard this wrong, has anyone else had to pay this sort of amount. Please tell me I've got it wrong, if you've recently had a property purchase did you have the same experience? Thank you in advance.

I recently bought in La Florida euro to euro. I transferred the funds into the solicitors clients account so did not incur any bank draft fee

You don't need a bankers draft!

You don't need a bankers draft.

You do not need a bankers draft....

To be absolutely honest this is why I have given less advice recently because it seems like some people don't want it when they get it.

Hi we had the same issue with Santander at Punta Prima in the end they offered an electronic transfer 2 he before notair meeting and charged 200 euros if we used there house insurance so we did it

Then moved insurance the year after to Jenifer Cunningham and saved 78 euros but you must do it at least a month before old one runs out as the bank won’t accept your departure without a months notice

Ps ours was before covid was for non Spanish people

I hate Spanish banks
