Have just been told by a friend that the banking fees for Sabadell are going up to €60 per quarter. Says she read it on their website but I can't see anything.

Can anybody confirm?

Every bank has many different types of accounts, so it could be possible that the fees are that amount for her type of account.   Is it a huge increase from what she is paying at the moment.

A lot of people on here mentioned that the fees for Sabadell increased dramatically last year, so is this a further increase.
Account fees vary depending on whether it’s a resident or non resident account, or if you have a regular sum going in each month, or if you have a certain number of transactions per month, or if you have insurance with them  or if you have to pay for bank card.

It could be time to change to another bank

Hi Linda,

It sounds like your friend has Sabadell´s non-resident ´Key Account´, but according to their website the fees are still €40 per quarter, so perhaps they haven´t updated their documentation yet:

https://www.bancsabadell.com/cs/Satellite/SabAtl/Key-Account/1191359536844/en/

I´m resident in Spain and the fees for my Sabadell account are only €15 per quarter.

Kind regards,
Kim

Yes we have a "Key account plus" and I have checked their website and cannot see anything. The fees only recently went up to €40 per quarter so I don't know where she got her info from. Hopefully it's incorrect.

Hi Kim

Do all residents who bank with Sabadell pay €15 per quarter or do you need to have a certain amount of money going into the account per month?

I am a resident but they are still taking €40 per quarter out of my account.

Many thanks

Julie

Hi Julie,

Have you taken your green card or TIE into the bank and told them that you're resident?  When we originally opened an account with Sabadell it was the non-resident 'Key Account' and we had to take in our documents to prove that we'd gained residencia before they would switch us to the residents' 'Expansion Account'.

Kind regards,

Kim

I also have the Expansion residents account with Sabadell and pay €15 per quarter. I don't think it matters how much goes in per month.

Hi Julie,

I think you need to pay your bank a visit 😉

Kind regards,

Kim
