Do you have English pensions going into your sabadell account every month ? I have been informed you pay an extra amount for pensions going in.

Hi Sandra,

Sabadell advised us that if we had my husband's Crown pension paid direct to Spain,  then we wouldn't pay bank charges, but Crown pensions have to be paid in the UK.  State pensions can be paid directly to Spain and so long as the amount is at least €700 per month, you would not pay bank charges.

Kind regards,

Kim

Looks like this is a Sabadell €700 / months deposit and you do not pay bank charges,as opposed to it being a Govt Pension ,tax paid ,exempt double taxation, pension .Which is what my Army pension was for many years This double tax exemption pension should not be included in an annual declaration total other than to signify it exists,a lot of Spanish Gestors do not understand this EU ruling and you can end up paying up to €90 when you should be recieving a refund .

No Nothing, I used it as a low risk account for Amazon, ebay etc and only kept it with a couple of hundred Euros, topping it up as necessary. I used to use it as a regular acc but that was about 5 yrs ago.

I'm answering Sandra's query about, " I have been informed you pay an extra amount for pensions going in" (to a Sabadell account).  The DTA is irrelevant to her query.  My point is that Sabadell does not charge extra account fees for pensions credited direct to your account - in fact, if a pension is paid direct and is at least €700 per month, residents don't pay bank fees at Sabadell, but my husband's RAF pension, unlike a State Retirement pension, cannot be paid direct to Spain, hence we have to pay bank charges.  The alternative option is to buy the bank's over-priced insurance and/or to commit a minimum of €30,000 to an uncompetitive savings plan for a minimum of 6 years 😳

I have a military pension ,Army, and it has been paid direct from MOD pensions into initially Cam Bank and now Sabadell for at least 20 years ,no bank charges ,regular as clockwork.

Yes we have a "Key account plus" and I have checked their website and cannot see anything. The fees only recently went up to €40 per quarter so I don't know where she got her info from. Hopefully it's incorrect.
