Hi

I am living in UK and buying in Torrevieja in the new year. I have been recommended a financial advisor for a Spanish mortgage, and the charges are 1500E. Does this seem reasonable, or am i being ripped off?

thanks in advance

Nick

I went with a recommendation from my Estate Agent Alegria (they are also Tax experts) - I would be wary of someone who's asking for that much as a fee- especially when you've not got your property yet

If you want a good mortgage arranger then go to "The Mortgage shop" in Rojales ,the owner is ex Army and, as he is married to a Spanish lady he is totally fluent in Spanish, his name is Chris McNamara. Absolutely brilliant service .I was beng told by all the banks that I couldnt have a mortgage,Chris got me one ( it was a combination of my age ,65, and already having a property in Spain with a mortgage),He charges for his service but it is worth it in my opinion as he does all the leg work and he has lots of contacts/friends who are bank managers. His fees are around 1200 euros.
