Sue,

Very typical Mediterranean crafty secret methods that everyone is aware of🤣🤣.

Don’t worry, it will all turn out right on the night!

I used to translate the purchase deeds in Sardinia, Italy as there it is compulsory to have the English and Italian versions side by side as anyone who doesn’t speak Italian cannot sign the deeds in Italian. Of course, even the notary’s turn a blind eye 🧐.

Good luck with your purchase,

Janice xxx

Hi would be interested to hear your outcome as we are going through the process at the moment and any helpful info would be appreciated, so far we only  lodged the 3.500E with the Lawyer for the holding deposit/Notary, pending a survey which he is holding on to this and just sending a copy of the receipt to the agent  as we have gleaned that much from various sources  that the agent doesn't need this money this is the trouble when you have to rely on translators, our Lawyer speaks good English but we were sent round to the Notary with a translator  so I'm trying to get as much info to hand like you, hope it all went well
