You can't come to Spain and then apply for residency with a Non Lucrative Visa. You apply in UK and then, when granted, come to Spain with that visa and apply for a residency card within 3 months.

Dual taxation. Government pensions, such as Forces, Police, Civil Service, Fire etc are only taxed in UK. The amount you receive will be taken into account in Spain to determine the level of tax you pay but will not actually be taxed.

All other worldwide income, private pensions, state pension, bank interest, shares dividends and so on, will be taxed in Spain. You need to complete a FD9 Spain Individual form to send to HMRC. They will then stop taking tax from that income. Be aware it takes some time and you will pay tax in both countries on the same income for the first year but will received a refund from UK HMRC when it has been sorted.

You will start paying income tax in Spain once you have been here for a period of more than 6 months in one calendar year.

A couple of websites that may be of help are:

Citizens Advice Bureau Spain for bureaucratic stuff, and

N332 for anything to do with driving in Spain.   It is for English speaking people and is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil.

Here's a link to a post on the Quesada Forum which will be of interest to you as it is more than depositing the required amount of money. You have to show you have a steady income flow to support yourself in Spain.
