This morning I called the DWP overseas pension service and after about 30 minutes managed to talk to someone. It was about several things HRP and Voluntary NICs. This was for my wife so she went through the normal broad security questions. This has been going on since over 6 months ago when HMRC said they had informed DWP about my wifes HRP status, Since then HMRC have said they informed DWP in July of the voluntary  NICs that had been paid. The guy at the DWP today did not have a clue, wanted to know the years of HRPs and details of the NICs and payment details. He said they had to manually check everything and we should hear in about 3 weeks. Over the last 4 moths We have sent several mails to DWP but have never received anything back from them. Has anyone else had similar treatment.  Incidentally We started with snail mail in Nov 23 and got our first success in March 25 with back payments etc.

Write to the MP of the last place you lived in the UK. We got replies back in double quick time.

Perhaps join the FB group Protect European Pensions. Hugely helpful pension specialists on there that will be able to help you with this. I emailed DWP to contest Level 3 contributions but got no reply either and posted in the forms

I think I will wait until next week and call again. I have not had any difficulty at all until I got this plonker on the line. They are probably snowed under with nearly 500K HRP claims and who knows how many Voluntary NICs calcs, So I can understand the delays but not the ineptitude of this operator.

I have GE voting rights in the UK but I will leave the local MP as the last option.

Thanks

Apparently 8am is the best time to get someone from what I've heard. So as soon as they open.
