Hi Folks

looking into getting  a short-term internet use by either using a dongle or perhaps a Spanish SIM.  I  have looked into on/off internet providers and it seems like a lot of bother and cost to set up. Has anyone used a dongle and if so, who would people recommend?  I think Carrefour do them, but I'm not sure.

Hi Declan

I just use my phone Data as wi-fi by turning on 'Mobile Hotspot and Tethering ' option in settings. I then have it hooked up to my Amazon Firestick which I've already loaded with the latest apps for TV and Films etc.

I have a sim deal of 10GB per month for a tenner and any unused data rolls-over into the next month. It means I generally have plenty of data to use for watching a movie or catching up on live UK tv whenever I wish.

Thanks Wilbur

I will try that. Tho I don't have a Firestick, I use Neflix mainly, and I use a Macbook Pro and an Apple Tablet, and it isn't easy to link to mobile tethering - I have tried, but  will look at it again.  I am looking at maybe taking a Wi-Fi package with the option to turn on/off when I'm not in Spain. Thanks again.

Hola Declan

I too don't really feel minded to pay for installation of broadband so normally use mobile wifi on phone. This time, I also brought out a mobile wifi router purchased from Argos in UK  with 15 gigabyte SIM card.  This has worked extremely well. It is a Vodafone SIM and Vodafone Spain is a very strong signal (72mbs). It connected immediately to my tablet and seems to be the perfect solution for my needs when here.

Hope this helps.

VPN express seems to work well and is easy to use.
