Hi folkes,

I just bought a flat in the Carrefour area of torrevieja, its empty so I hope to find tips for affordable furniture, especially beds, so if anyone has ideas about good deals then please let me know. First reason for joining the forum was about internet though, I understand spain is a bit behind regarding internet, is anything new happening there for holiday hook ups, weeks at the time, I will not be living there period at least for the next few years, only come for a few weeks here and there when I can get away from my country, all info is welcome thanks:)

...egarding internet, is anything new happening there for holiday hook ups, weeks at the time, I will not be living there period at least for the next few years, only come for a few weeks here and there when I can get away from my country, all info is welcome thanks:)

Hi Gooner - I purchased a Holiday home 2yrs ago in Toretta Florida (3-4 mins from Carrefour) and the 1st thing I did was to arrange for Wifi and UK TV channels - DvbLab tell Lars Linda recommended him - switch on/off system - only pay fir usage when you are in Spain - furniture - you can get good deals from either Tony Firth (Auction house & delivers - see goods & bid online) or New 2 you, Torrevieja - they also deliver

Gooner - forgot to mention I have 2 x single bed bases if you want them - 25euros but you'd need to collect them from 03180

Thanks so much Linda, I think I would be interested in the beds for my kids, but how to pull of the collecting part im not really sure about... do you know anything about car boot sales in torrevieja? I saw on some fb groups that there are such things but they were all outside torrevieja, cheers Kim

Kim - there's car boot sales every Sat morning at a corner Bar opposite St James Gate - think it's called le Inglesias - they have a large triangle shaped outside plot and have entertainment on Friday nights.

If you're getting anything delivered by either Tony Firth or Helen's crew at New2you - offer to pay them 10euros to collect the bed frames ?

The on/off option I went for cost 320 to set up - small Sat dish and wire into the house with modem - 38 euros per month/trip and the Wifi is faster than in the UK!
