You could try losing the marido.

It did not grow legs and wander out of the house, nor got taken by a magpie or raccoon. 

Have another look around.. 

A last resort is to move our horrendously heavy  recliner sofa.

We pulled the recliners out, and couldn't see anything.

Marido said he would have heard it drop,having said that Manchester United were playing, and he would have been oblivious to anything else going on around him?

He is a walking disaster,so this isn't the first time we have had unnecessary happenings,and it won't be the last?

Frustrating as hell though!

Purchase a new universal remote - bring your TV make and model to the shop and the next day the old one will be found.. 

This only works if you open the package of the new one - rendering it un returnable.

I have two Samsung TV's and both have auxiliary manual controls, one has a multi function single button on the back by the right edge and the other discrete buttons for On/Off, Vol +/-, and CH up/down, on the bottom surrounding the power indicator.

Being as everybody habitually uses the remote it's not surprising that few realise they are there! 

Look in the manual or post the model no.

The answer was the power button is underneath the Samsung sign on the base of the TV.

That got us nowhere,nothing to press on?

Something horrible occurred though.

While we were fiddling trying to find a button of some sort,a black insect with long legs fell on to the TV table,god  knows where it came from.

Was almost impossible to kill,and very fast.

Think i'll be reprimanded now by some folk?

It's the hubby who has the remote stuck to his hand constantly.

I like my Samsung Galaxy and a cheeky G&T.

His loss now.

Will keep Googling,got nothing else to do??
