Hi I have a satellite dish with free sat boxes on my TVs.  Used to work great but now since it appears we have hD I can’t get any bbc channels and only limited others .

I’ve had a local company in Torrevieja here very helpful but couldn’t solve my problem. Doesn’t know what’s going on.  He said lots of people seem to have problems.  Does anyone know what we can do or who can we get in to sort the issue. we used to be able to watch all channels....

...  Record etc.  thanks everyone maureen

You and every one else during the day rubbish at night perfect.

My Freesat is working fine on a 1.8m dish.  The BBC regional programmes can be found on Freesat channels from 951 to 967, with the exception of BBC South on 961.

Just pick a number and work up and down till you find a decent signal.  It does suffer from atmospherics so just try again.

You will not get anything on 101 where you used to find BBC  1.

I have never needed a Firestick or anything else apart from my dish and Freest box.  It's good enough for what I want to watch.

Hmmm. My Humax box automatically put the BBC HD regional channel (I use an E Midland postcode, tried London, Bristol, North etc but this one is best) onto Channel 101. Whatever postcode you set it up with, it will put that regional channel on 101.

I get all channels on Freesat except channel 4 HD now that it's moved up to 104 so I use the STB mode and get Ch4 SD on that.

No.

BBC will continue to transmit in SD (with no regional versions) until the end of March 2024.

See freq 10803 H 22000 for them.

But the SDs have been removed from Freesat, but are still on Sky HD boxes (in the 800´s SD HD swap section)

And in Orba where you are (according to your profile), you can get all channels, inc BBC HD, ITV HD and C4HD on a 125x135cm dish...like i did yesterday for a client!

Put a London postcode in , and you will get the London region of C4HD on 104 you had before they regionalised it.

(If you can get Channel 4seven, then you can get C4HD London, as they are on the same frequency, and this was the version they used on Freesat until a few weeks ago, before they regionalised it!)

But this will allocate you a weak ITv1 HD on 103, but you have the 111 SD version available instead, so no need to put the box into non freesat mode.

"You will not get anything on 101 where you used to find BBC  1." Depends which postcode you input and thus region you are allocated.

Yes you will. If you find a working region in the 950-960s, then put in a postcode from that region and you will get that region on 101...(but it may mess up your ITV1HD on 103 and C4HD on 104)

Yes, I tried a London postcode and Lost ITV1 HD on 103. Only a couple of clicks for STB to get C4 and don't really watch it that much.

Yes, for some with dishes that are too small, or in weak signal areas, it can be a toss up between a good ITV1 HD on 103, and good C4HD on 104. There is no postcode that give you both. I have tried loads and not found one yet. So one of those you will be needing in SD.

But if you have a Freesat recording box, putting it into non freesat mode, and the box will miss any recordings planned in Freesat mode.

And on the "4k" Freesat boxes, "non freesat mode" is a pain, and needs you to scan everything in again each time you go into and from freesat mode. Unlike the Manhattans, and Humax boxes where you can swap between the two easily with a press of one or two buttons.

Agree, the 4k box is a pain switching modes. As Channel 4+1 is on Freesat, I generally use that rather than bother switching. Not HD admittedly but good enough for my purposes.
