Hi,

Had my first Torrevieja bus experience yesterday, after being shown a property on Altos del Limonar I decided to stay on and look around the area.

After walking round for 2 hours taking in the area I ended up by Carrefour and decided to head back to Torrevieja so went to bus stop, first bus that came along I asked if it went to main bus station and he said si  si,  so I hopped on merrily.

Keep in mind, I don't know Torrevieja at all when we got there he stopped at a bus stop on high street and started reading a book ?

After 10 minutes I asked him if this main bus station and he replied no, soon, 10 minutes later he pulled of again, imagine my surprise when 10 minutes later we are driving passed Carrefour again !!! Lol, so I asked again and he pointed to the bus behind me, you catch that one ?

So another 1.35 euros and try again, this lady driver then pulls into the marina stop and gets out and has a coffee and cigarette so another 15 minute wait, off we go again and although I had asked her to tell me when we got to main bus station, it was only by luck I realised a few stops later we were there as she was going to pull off !!

Well looking on the bright side I know Torrevieja much better now, saw most of it 10 times over yesterday lol, I am sure will soon suss it out

You're brave - I haven't broke my Cherry on the Buses yet - I'm in Toretta 11 and can walk down to the Marina in 15-20mns but have often considered a trip back up the hill on a bus but it's just sooooo confusing as to which bus goes where and where does it stop /pick up from?

That's a great posting Dreamseeker! I moved here in 2015, and found the buses a real culture shock! You assume that a return trip would go the same route, but it doesn't work that way. However, you do get used to it, and there's always taxis! After a year, I bought a car though. The benefit is that you don't have masses of diesel fumes being chugged out and the walking is better for your health. Enjoy exploring Torrevieja.

Yes, very Kimi lol, I walked from my apartment to Altos del Limonar today and took around 45 minutes, not bad as it was taking me 20 minutes to walk to bus terminal anyway, so if I do end up buying the property, first investment will be a bike, that should prove fun, not ridden one since I was 14 lol

To true Sheila, also only used a taxi once in Torrevieja, that was in 2016 when I arrived at bus station, was only a 7 minute journey and I was charged 25 euros, which I thought was expensive ?, it was from bus station, so drivers there might charge more, but has put me of using them, so have people on here got a regular taxi service they use that is reasonable?

Thanks Bill, used B yesterday, but strange thing was bus stop outside bus station does not show B on boards or electronic display ? And seems neither the man in the terminal ticket office or the people on the bus queue know What B is, and I have no idea what the Spanish version is lol

Hi If you go into your App Store/ Playstore and search for the app Costa Azul (also shows the name Avanza, its old name) download then when you go in click on Lineas Urbanas, you will find all the bus routes including the one called B. It gives you all the stops, times etc. If you click on the route you will also see the choice of Ida or Vuelta at the bottom which is basically outbound/inbound that way you can see any difference in the route it takes. Although there is a timetable, a lot of the buses are connected to the app via internet, so if it is running late or going to be early the actual time it is due will be shown, if you know what I mean. Hope this helps.
