Always liked Santa Pola & we drive up there often from Torrevieja for the day as you can park right next to the very wide, very long beach which very quiet there at that time of year except for the windsurfers & have been in swimming in October & November. Not that much open at that time of year though during the day along the beach & the town itself is very quiet too with all the rental properties empty. Seems plenty places to eat in the evenings in the town. Fine modern bus station there along with a fairly busy fishing port where you can get a boat ride out to Tabarca island. Don’t know anything about the nightlife I’m afraid but 10 weeks is a long time to spend there. There are livelier places down south like Torrevieja & Orihuela Costa with more bars & restaurants.

Santa Pola is fine at that time of year . Might need a cardi early on & evenings . If you stay close to Levante beach area / Centre of town there will be plenty bars n eateries open.  This is a working town with a good sense of community & Life continues for the permanent residents after September - It certainly does not go dead after the holiday season if you are central. Yes, some places will close like ice cream shops & some small bars.  Its not a night club type of place.   Jan & Feb is when you may find  a few businesses taking their annual break.
Buses run to Alicante , Elche , torrevieja if you want a change of scenery .

We actually love it when the holidaymakers leave.  It depends what amount of activity you actually want & , for us, its fine to live all year round .
