Hi. Does anyone know if it’s compulsory to have a booster jab before going to England? I’m 74 and have been double jabbed since April 7th but as we’re going to England in 8 days I’d feel safer if I had the booster. I went to my salud today to make an appointment and the earliest I could have it was the 21st November. That’s too late to help me stay safe. Any advice or solutions please. I would be grateful.

Hi Jean, it’s not compulsory to have a booster jab, two vaccinations covers the entry requirements, you do not have to have a pre departure test from Spain, nor do you have to isolate when you get to the UK. When you get here just carry on as normal being sensible, wear a mask in public enclosed spaces, carry out the usual things like hand sanitising and general hygiene as I’m sure you do right now. Don’t go kissing strangers! You will be fine.

Updated today (22nd Nov)
Double vaccination certificate required, plus passenger locator form and day-2 lateral flow test.
If lateral flow test is positive, PCR test to be taken. If PCR positive, self-isolation is mandatory.
Booster-3 not required.

I’m assuming you have pre purchased your lateral flow test kit, you will need the reference number which is provided when you pay for the kit, that number has to be put on your passenger locator form, which you complete prior to UK entry.
