Hi can we travel to benidorm for a holiday when we have been double vaccinated?(been double vaccinated since June) Wasn't sure if we can come over if we don't own property there? So confusing when you read about it!? we know we have to fill in the fcs form as well as proof of vaccination (Q. R) code, any advice would be appreciated thanks Julie

The area in general is full of holiday makers and is the busiest it’s been pre Covid. Amber is essential  travel only, but I think people are bending the rules to suit their own requirements.  Especially when you have to pay 8k for a caravan for a week in Cornwall!

It’s the start of the Spanish holidays and there seems to be a lot more holidaying in Benidorm this year, probably thinking that there’ll be less foreigners there.

However the fact that the square is completely closed due to renovation and the bigger bars on the strip are still closed, along with the 1 am curfew, it hasn’t deterred the British holiday makers.

I was there yesterday, it’s not the usual Benidorm that you either love or hate, I actually found it was quite  a pleasant change.

I live in Benidorm and can tell you that there are more visitors and holidaymakers here now than the past year and half. The majority are Spanish people who come in from Madrid. Alicante and other major inland cities.

The bars and restaurants are starting to open up more by the week but as has been said, the British Square area is still dug up but I go past there every day and can see improvements being made and I imagine it will be completed within a couple of weeks. Palm trees are already planted!! By September the whole place will be full of brits as long as the restrictions stay as they are.
