It may be better uf you can stay in Spain.

As far as I can see it is very problematic.

You cannot use an NHS test as it will

not be accepted, so private ones are

Anything between £95 to £150

You can only do it to max 72 hrs before travel. If you do all that and flights booked etc and the flight iOS cancelled, you have to

do it all over again. Very costly and not only adds the complications of it, but almost

is not practical.

I was just looking at some flights in January

and some of the prices are very high, not all

But some are.

DavidES

I think you’re right. I reckon I’m better writing off the cost of the flight, than risking the complications of COVID testing and being able to get back home.

Cheers

Well, I just think it’s a bit complicated in co-ordinating it all.

Plus the costs involved, you would find to

do a relatively easy process or what was

is now ten times harder.

The world has now changed so much in the last year that it is unbelievable really. And we all have Brexit to cope with also and all

The implications that holds.

I used to go to Spain fir long weekends, I think those days are gone until we can get

back to some normality, sadly as the infection rates and deaths are increasing no

government anywhere are going to give

green lights to much. When they do, we probably be able to get flights then either as

the demand will be so high.

Best of luck, but I think you are better off

staying there if you can.

stat safe, stay well

I have a second home in La Marina. Currently it was £50 to £60 for a return flight from Manchester to Alicante. If the Spainish governement insist on this additional requirement, it will kill off what remains of any tourist money coming into the area.

Yes indeed

I looked this morning for a flight from Alicante to Gatwick. It was an unbelievable

£600 one way.

I have a property in Torrevieja and I am beginning to wonder when I will see it?

I need to organise some work to be done there and that is difficult to do when you are 1000 miles away

I guess we just have to wait and see what happens next.

A year ago if this was in a novel or book, we

Would also say it’s a bit far fetched, but there you fact is usually stranger than fiction.

Hi DavidES

Hang in there, things will improve in the coming weeks and months and you will get back out. Flight prices will crash as these new measures take effect and travellers cancel or stop booking , so don't book anything just yet anyway, leave it till last minute and only then if you can book a test 72 hrs before departing.

However, these measures are now the 'norm' until the virus is contained again and the vaccine gets issued. I'd say wait till Spring, but as with this situation over the past 9 months, it can change very quickly for the better and a state of flux will be the order of the day.

Stay safe, keep faith.

We have booked to come over 26th December, but obviously in doubt .

Even if things were to be semi back to normal the 72 hours notice would take me to 23/12 and I doubt if tests would be analysed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to give us a result for our health form entering Spain.

Looks like another Ryanair change hahaha

It's not ideal Mary.

Are Ryanair charging you for changes or are they allowing free amendments?

If you really need to go you could look for options on skyscanner.net, they look at all airlines.

It looks like BA have stopped flying to Alicante altogether at the moment. We came back from Alicante last Thursday and it was with Iberia via Madrid, BA switched our flights to Iberia so it did not cost us any extra but the on-line one way price was £340ish!

Aitch.

Yes indeed.

I think that the Covid testing won’t last long.

Many countries that introduced it dropped it

as it meaningless really. You are more likely

to pick up Covid on the plane after of course you have had the test??

Whatever way we all look at this situation, 2020 is a year we will remember for all

the wrong reasons.

Stay Safe
