Travelled from Alicante to Newcastle today (4th July) with Ryanair. The airport was like a ghost town with most shops and eateries closed. WH Smith closed too, so take your own reading materials. Masks mandatory for everyone throughout and social distancing well organised and monitored. Plane had only 50 or so passangers, so plenty space to keep apart, no queuing for toilet and a reduced trolly service of cold drinks and sandwiches. All in all, very quiet journey and felt completely safe throughout.

It’s really helpful to hear first hand experience as so many of us are apprehensive about flying.

So, thanks for taking the time to report your first hand experience.

Hi Barry

No we only had to fill in the UK locator form on the UK Government site and present that at Border Control at Newcastle Airport. Several passangers had not done this and were taken to one side by Border Control to complete it online before they were allowed through.

I travelled to stansted on Thursday 2nd July and had virtually the same experience, about 60 on my flight. Lots of empty seats.
