Hello I'm in the clinically vulnerable category with only private insurance and not registered in the Spanish Health service. How do I get a vaccine? I'm retired but not of pension age.

Hi Audrey. Sadly I cannot help as I'm luckily registered with a GP in La Siesta, however, I have at least 8 Friends (some under pensionable age) who are not registered and have private health insurance. Like yourself, all of them have been trying to find out how they can get a vaccine, so far to no avail. I am therefore hoping that someone out there has some information on this matter.

I am in the same position and emailed our local authority they replied as follows:-

"The Spanish Government has decided that all vaccinations will be done by the Health Service and that vaccines will not be made available to private hospitals, clinics etc.

As there are a number of residents such as yourselves who do not qualify for health care under the national system I will  be taking this up with the Valencian Health Minister in the near future. "

Possibly if all those in a similar position email their respective authority we may get a definative answer

Hello Many I want to say a big thank you for that. I was searching for answers without success. Hopefully this will allow me to be included in the vaccination programme. The CBF is brilliant

Hello Mandy thank you for all your help. I have completed the online form but couldn't give them my mobile number because it's a UK number. I assume they might ring or send the SIP card. I just want to query whether the SIP number is a temporary one. Thank you again Mandy sorry for the misspelling of your name.

I understand that the cards provided are provisional cards which do not give access to free health care but do put us on the register for the virus..  another person had same problem but they did call him apparently.

Thank Mandy that is such a relief to know. I hope that they can speak English. You've been amazing I'm so grateful.
