We’re travelling to Torre in two weeks. Is there a lockdown in operation there? Are restaurants open? Are masks mandatory in public parks,  paseos?

Most restaurants and shops are open with social distancing in place.

Masks must be worn in all public areas both inside buildings and outside.

When you have ordered your drink and or meal you can remove your mask when sitting at a table but must put it on to walk around and enter and leave the restaurant.

Masks must be worn walking on and off the beach but you can remove it when sitting or lying down

Social distancing must always be observed

It all sounds strange and takes some getting used to but most people stick to the rules because fines are high.

Thanks for that. Appreciated. What about sitting alongside the beaches in  eg...los locos or del cura (public seating).

Along side the beach is considered a public area and unfortunately masks must be worn at all times in public areas.

It is not ideal but it is the law hopefully this time next year it will all be under control again.

We came home last week. We walked along from Torre to Los Locas. There’s a lovely tapas bar overlooking the sea in that new pedestrianised area where you can sit for ages and enjoy refreshments with no mask on!  Or, relax at Bellemar opposite the hombre del mar close to the pier. It’s lovely and plenty of seat available too.

The beach at playa delete cura was very busy as was Los Locas. No beach bars or loungers

Busy at the la La Mata beach at Vela Beach. Difficult to park so we went to where Blondies normally is. Loads of parking space.

You will have a lovely holiday. The quarantine is a pain , we have been so lucky to have had continental weather but the rain is forecast for the next few days. It’s a long 2 weeks when you can’t go out if your driveway for a walk.

Hi, we're in Torrevieja at the moment, no lockdown, most restaurants are open, must wear a mask except when eating and drinking or on the beach or the pool . Not had any problems.

Thanks for this update! Really useful factual update and reassuring for those who are about to travel. Appreciated. Good luck with the quarantine...the 2 weeks will soon pass.

May be a daft question...........

If you are on the beach lying down and want to go and have a dip in the sea....do you have to put your mask on to walk to the sea?

I wonder how the nudists get on?

We just went into the sea! Mask back on as soon as we packed up to leave.
You will soon get used to it

We’re travelling on 5/10. If any changes to rules in Torrevieja, I’d be grateful if this forum could be updated.

Well done.
