Selfish attitude wearing them helps save unvaccinated children and vulnerable people you should always think of others especially now with the omicron variient very easily transmitted

Recognise the issue and it was the same when we were in Calpe, Benidorm, Denia and Moraira last week. I think the problem is that rules need to have some kind of sensible, logical underpinning and throughout this pandemic that's been patchy in UK and in Spain. The mask wearing in Spain is completely illogical ie. wear your mask while walking along the promenade and then take it off when you go indoors to a bar or restaurant. Pretty bonkers by any standard so ignored on a large scale.

Vulnerable people should probably get vaccinated to protect themselves.  Here in England people have finally begun to wake up it appears we are just gonna live with this cold variant.  I do hope Spain can get back to normal after being conditioned for so long.  Was lovely to pop back over between Xmas and new year but those Covid passes to get a bit to eat don’t make no sense 🤷🏻‍♂️

It was the same in Santa Pola last Thursday, hardly anyone wearing a mask. Yet I’ve just come back from our town Villena and everyone is wearing a mask. 

I have been here for 2 weeks with my husband staying in the old town of Benidorm and we have visited Vilajoyosa, Altea and Finestrat and I have to disagree with you. We have worn our masks all the time and have been fully vaccinated, but the amount of young Spanish couples pushing prams not wearing masks was very obvious especially in Vilajoyosa. Please don't blame every British person as you are generalising. Yes some are not wearing masks but there again they are not all British.

I think you misinterpreted my post. My general gist wast that if everyone does all they can to protect themselves and stay safe then that is the utmost they can do ( be it jabs, boosters, masks, staying at home when unwell). Especially so in light of the authorities not enforcing the new rules. 

The problem is that omnicron is basically an inconvenience rather than an illness,both myself and wife caught it ,probably in the pre Christmas viewing of the lights in Benidorm,no masks anywhere from anyone.

Felt " down " for a week ,sore throat+/-,runny nose,slight headache for a while and first two days fatigued.Stayed home ,in days gone by would have worked without to much discomfort .Infection rates are the media's latest 24/7 doom news,listening to RTE 1 you would think the end of the world is nigh .

Masks help but the old ,"coughs and sneezes spread diseases",worked just as well before Covid mania

Totally agree, many Spanish shop attendants and restuarant staff have masks on but are often seen with their masks on their chin and these are the places where strict rules apply.???

We had the exact same symptoms as you...caught it on Christmas Eve and by Boxing Day was out flat. Couldn't have done a thing in those first 48hrs even if I wanted too.
