Hi we are looking forward to a welcome two week break in Torrevieja on Saturday.

I have read somewhere that masks need to be worn while you are walking around the La Zenia shopping Boulevard. Does anyone know if that’s correct. I understand inside the shops they are required, I thought that we wouldn’t be required to wear them outside.

Hello

Masks must be worn anywhere you cannot guarantee a 1.5 metre social  distance,  also if you are going in and out of shops it would make more sense to leave it on rather than keep taking it  off & then replacing it. Masks are also required on public transport and  markets & police were walking through & reminding people at La Mata market  today.

Of course, when you are seated at a cafe/bar/restaurant - you can take off your mask

Cheers

You have to wear masks when you can't maintain the social distancing. So if there are a lot of people there who are likely to mingling then you are required to wear masks.

Ok, so this nonsense is still going on then, ie where you are perfectly safe from floating germs while SITTING at a table, but at risk if walking PAST a table.  It's stupid and needs ditching.  I hope most establishments are being a bit more sensible about it now, not that I will be frequenting many bars and restaurants during my next visit from early October.

Here in the UK it is a very hit and miss situation on mask wearing.  There's plenty of "we advise you to wear one" notices but many, thankfully, are taking the sensible option and leaving it in their pockets, or at home.  I took a train to York yesterday and visited the National Railway Museum and walked a bit on the Roman walls.  I saw very few people wearing a mask outside although there were some on the train wearing one.  It's got to the stage now where you either wear one or you don't - it's down to personal choice and I am happy with that.  I won't bother anyone hiding half of their face for no good reason and I don't expect anyone to bother me for breathing in the fresh, Autumnal air.

Life is going on again but we still have nonsensical situations like Glastonbury is cancelled and yet the IOW Festival went ahead last weekend (50,000 or so in Seaclose Park enjoying open air music).  I've been in several big football and cricket crowds lately and feel perfectly safe doing so.  Normality reigns once more.  Well, NEARLY normal, but you know what I mean!
