Has anybody got any information about when we will be able to return to Spain after we have had the two covid vaccinations and will this negate the need for testing. We should be vaccinated before February 15 for the first one and  May, I guess, for the second, all being well.

Personal view is that you would still need a negative Covid test. Reason is that the vaccines don't stop you becoming infected or being able to infect others. Instead they reduce the risk of you becoming seriously ill with it.

Lancelot you need to know the facts before you give incorrect information that could affect people.

1.The vaccine should stop you getting the virus after one injection 60%and 90%depending which vaccine.

The Scientist themselves are not sure if after the vaccine you can still pass it on only time will tell.

And I haven’t seen any information that’s says you are not so Poorlif you have the vaccine again time is the answer to that statement I haven’t heard of anyone catching the virus after receiving the vaccine.

I haven't read anywhere that these vaccines are a/ 100% effective b/ prevent asymptomatic infection c/ prevent cross infection. Though I have read that they are effective in preventing serious illness in most cases. I could be wrong and would ask that you provide a reputable link to study which says that people who are vaccinated can no longer a/ catch or b/ transmit the virus to others.  This is partly why I presented my post as a personal view.

I am not a medical expert my apologies if I am not correct but I have been made aware only one vaccine has ever been 100%,that is the Smallpox Vaccine. Even the U.K. Flu vaccine (which is different every year is only 40 to 60% effective.so the three Vaccines in use now are American 95%effective British 90% after two injections, but has I said know one know if you can still get the virus and pass  it on time will give us that answer.

Until we know for sure my money is on people requiring a Covid test even if they have had a vaccination.

I will put my money with you any country that allows people to enter it for the next 12 months are desperate  and brave personally think you will be having injections for years to come with the variants it’s producing.

Someone on the post said you need to know the facts.  Well the  fact  is,  nobody knows the facts yet, so no one can answer your question.  Sorry.  Just need to wait and see.

Hi. I understand from reading several articles and I believe heard an interview on the BBC, that you can in fact, catch covid 19 after receiving a vaccine.

That comment is correct but the scientists stated afterwards they were sure the two people vaccinated had the virus before they had the vaccine so I think two people from 1.5 million (in U.K.)sounds positive.
