Hi all,

Does anyone know if it is necessary to have pcr test or antigen test when returning to ireland via belfast airport. We are fully vaccinated and living in republic of ireland.  Many thanks in advance.

Hello Frank

This link should give you the requirements for travelling into NI.

https://www.legislation.gov.uk/nisr/2021/99/contents/made

Even if you intend driving straight back down to the republic, I’m afraid you have to abide by this legislation.

Best wishes

E.

You definitely need an antigen test returning to Belfast from Spain even if fully vaccinated as well as a completed passenger locator form. My daughter has just returned to there at the weekend.

Rep of Ireland do not require a post arrival certificate but I’m not sure that you can download your Locator form without proof of payment for the test. I hope you can as it would seem very unnecessary and unfair. Please let us know how you fair.  If you are obliged to show that you have paid for a test, pay for the Randox test as its half the price of the NHS one required of us. (£88) each
