Just to say, my husband had text yesterday for vaccine in Torrevieja next week. 2nd jab appointment for June. He is 64.

We registered at local salud for the vaccine and it's worked!

Hi ldp,

Congratulations!  My friend's husband, who is 64, received notification yesterday of his first jab on 6 April and his second will be mid June.  They also have PHI.

Kind regards,

Kim

And for us too, second jabs for us both in June. Also PHI, we are so grateful 🙏

You are very lucky, I have a residency card and am over 70, tried to register at salud in Torrevieja, but was told NO, and asked for a Ehic card? I am convinced 1 or 2 things are happening either the receptionist has no clue what she is doing or they are being obstructive for some reason. That's the problem here there is no consistency, what's ok one day has changed the next. Now I'm stuck.

Hi Jean,

I hope you don't mind me asking, but are you a UK citizen?  I'm just wondering why you haven't got free healthcare in Spain?  At retirement age, you should have been entitled to an S1 from the UK, enabling you to get a SIP card in Spain.

Kind regards,

Kim

Yes I am a resident, and what you are saying makes sense, but it has taken a long time and a lot of questions to ex pat's, to get the right answers, I am very grateful to Costa Blanca Forum, and all the people who replied, I think the way forward will be the S1.

Many thanks to you all. Jean

Hi Jean,

Yes, apologies, I'd forgotten that I'd already answered your question on another thread and recommended that you contact Sophie Johnson if you need help to get your S1 registered.  She helped friends of mine a couple of weeks ago and charges Eu 30 for the service - this is worth every cent, just because she can get the appointment at the INSS within days - much more quickly than you trying to get it online.

Good luck!

Kind regards,

Kim

Hello, thanks Kim,

Sophie Johnson is someone who deals with what, apart from S1 reg. Does she help others get there. Residencia,? I know someone who needs a Residencia and did not register before Brexit, could she possibly help her?

Thanks jean

Hi Jean,

Sophie's primary role is a translator, but she seems to have good contacts for getting some administrative processes done quickly.  Probably best to contact her and ask whether she deals with Residencia as well.

Kind regards,

Kim
