There is a concsssion on ITV's so no need to worry about that.

Judging by the fact that I received my new Spanish licence just a couple of days ago it would seem that for the moment at least Trafico are still operating.

I don't know if it's possible to renew wholly online or if it is how far in advance of expiry you can do it but I think if posssible I might be tempted to apply now and get it in the system, not your fault then if the new licence fails to turn up in time.

If stopped I believe the Guardia will have roadside access to Trafico to verify the position.

Take a photocopy of it of course.

To quote from DGT:

If the ITV of your vehicle has expired during the alarm period, it will be considered temporarily extended, and you can drive without any problem for the duration of this exceptional period.

Licenses whose validity period expires during the alarm state will be automatically extended for the duration of the alarm and until sixty days after its end.
