I drive from the UK to Villamartin on a regular basis. We cross at the border near San Sebastian.  It takes approximately 8hrs from there. From Bilbao you can either go via Zaragoza or Burgos nr Madrid. I drive from the UK in one go without a stopover so I am used to long drives. If you got off the boat at Bilbao before 1pm I wold say go for it. If later I would do a stop

At that time I would go for it. A couple of pit stops you will arrive bout teatime. Whichever way you go it is a fairly dull drive with not much to see. But roads are quiet so you can gun it a little

When I did the journey from Bilbao to Benidorm on a cruiser motorcycle l stopped over at Zaragosa for a nights stopover. As a motorbike has a smaller petrol tank we were stopping at service stations (some were well off the main drag) which could be 100 km in between so I recommend stopping for fuel more often rather than risking it. Great journey but stick to the toll roads.

Bilbao-Logrono-Zaragoza-Teruel-Valencia and then on the AP7 down the coast.

Nice drive, a few breaks and it isn’t a problem at all, you’re arriving Bilbao at a great time allowing you a relaxed drive south. Can be busy around Valencia but an easy trip.

Enjoy.

Hi Brian

Try visiting www.viamichelin.com it will show you the several routes, plus it will show you the fuel and toll costs. Hope this helps

Drive safe
