ITV For Trailer?

I recently bought a (under 750 kg) second hand trailer. It has two ITV certificates issued by the Torrevieja centre, dated in 2008. One states it is an EU import and complies to Spanish regulations, the other that it was inspected for safety and is roadworthy.

Someone told me I need to get a new ITV certificate now I bought it. Thrre is nothing on the ITV website to make an online booking for this reason, and there have been no responses to my emails (to three ITV centres near me) asking for the procedure.

Do I need a new certificate? There is no clear information available, even looking at the N332 website doesn't give clear any clear answers.

Your ITV certificate shows a validity expiry date ("válido hasta"). If you don't care about some waiting time just show up at any ITV, preferrably during Spanish lunchtime (2-4pm).

I drove over to to the ITV centre near to me (20 kms) with the trailer. I handed the the documents to the girl in the office. She handed them to a (very helpful) tester, who told me a new test was NOT needed as the original certificate (with no end date) is all I need. I asked if the police would accept this if stopped, and he said "Of course".

Only braked trailers with a carrying capacity of 750 kgs or more need to be tested. My trailer is under that, hence the original certificate is legal.

It seems that information on some of the more trusted websites needs updating.
