I need to change the address currently held on my Spanish driving licence. Has anyone in the Torrevieja/Playa Flamenca area recent experience of this?.Note I don't wish to do it online as I don't have a digital signature at this time. Info I am looking for is where to go in person and required documents.

Thanks.

Hi,

I tried to do this online earlier in the year. If I remember correctly I couldn’t change to my new address, but i could change it to a postal address.

The reason that I couldn’t change the new address is that the driving license is linked to your TIE card and the address associated with that.
If you try to do it at the DGT offices, I’d have thought that you will get the same response, unless you have already updated your address on your TIE.

The thought of going through that process again, so soon after eventually getting my TIE brought me out in a cold sweat, it’ll keep for another day.

Yes I know it needs to be updated, it will be eventually.

Thanks for the reply. Our TIE's had to be updated recently so have the new address and Padron sorted. Just looking for the right office or department to go to. Don't know if local town hall could help? Appreciate the info.

Try this link to show location of DGT offices,

https://www.dgt.es/conoce-la-dgt/donde-estamos/

Offices in Elche, Alicante, Murcia and Cartagena.

Whilst searching for the above, this company came up. I’ve never used them so can’t give you a recommendation but it’s some where to start if you don’t want to do it yourself.

Good luck.

Hi

It's very easy to get a digital certificate at Playa Flamenca town Hall. Even my missus managed to do it! Simply make an appointment and take your passport/NIE/TIE. https://governalia.com/MODULES/APPOINTMENTS/simply/newApp.jsp

In practice, when we went there, it was 1st come 1st served!

But I don't know if it will help to change the address on your TIE.

Cheers

Steve

Why do you want to change the photo on your driving license? They always come out pretty bad but the photo will change each time you have a medical to update the license (10 years if under 70 and every 5 years or less if over). When your current license expires, they will take a new photo at the medical which will appear on your new license.

Hi marcliff,  thanks for the reply. The reason I'd like to change the photo is that I recently got lucky with one of those booths and got a really good picture for my TIE renewal.

Given that the photo on my drivers licence would be better suited on a police most wanted poster, I thought it would be a great opportunity to get it changed, rather than wait another four years till my licence expires.

Regards

Gary
