Good morning to one and all...

Here is a 'complicated' question.

My lady, who is a 'legal' resident in the UK, and is a 'Czech national, who holds both a British passport AND a European passport, wishes to reside here in España.

This lady also has a daughter of eight years, who holds a BRITISH passport, having been born in the United Kingdom.

Before they travel, I suggested, that 'mother', makes enquiries regarding the 'E-111' health care document, to confirm that they can receive health care here in THIS country?

This is where this confusing situation arises.

Should anyone have any suggestions of the way forward, then we would be eternally grateful for help and advice.

Thank you all, and please have a safe weekend...

Sorry, the E111 doesn't exist it's now the S1 and has been for many years. She can register as an EU citizen resident in Spain but needs medical insurance for at least the first year. She can then claim family rights to get her daughter residency rights. Healthcare for under 18s is free in Spain but only those who have contributed to the Spanish social security system or with an S1 can get free healthcare.

Only adults who are receiving a state pension can get the S1 to transfer their healthcare to Spain.

These are the same rights a Spanish citizen has.

THANK YOU for your rapid response!

I will now forward your EXCELLENT advice to my lady in the UK...

I have been resident in España for ten years, and this is why I still refer to itcas the E1 11!

I HAVE the S1 certificate, but I'm a little bit dozy first thing in the morning!🤔.

Thank you once again...I will update the situation...

Just a heads up, obviously I know nothing about the family's circumstances, but...... If the little girl has a UK citizen father who is named on her birth certificate, mum might need to check that father is ok about the child going to live in another country. Speaking from experience, and having a pal who got stopped at the border because she didn't have a letter of permission from her child's father.....
