Hi all.  I work from home - would it be possible to work from my Spanish property and what are the requirements you need for this to be possible?

Thanks for your help and advice.

Regards

Linda

Hi

Your question is ambiguous, if you have internet and and work during your entitled 90 days from 180 if you are not a resident I cant see an issue, if you think you can do momre than 90 days in any 180 you will get get trouble. You are only allowed 90 days in any part of the EEC if you are a UK resident . Unless you have residency here.  Hope this helps but you have not really said a lot, I believe because you have good reason.

Hi thanks for quick response.  I believe I was a bit vague.  I’m a Uk citizen but was wondering if I need to become a Spanish resident to work in Spain.  My job is Uk based but was wondering what criteria I need to work in Spain.   I have WiFi set up in my property.

Thanks for your advice

Unless you are a resident and pay your tax on Spain then you are a visitor.  The rules for British people have changed since we left the European Union. We are permitted to visit and stay for 90 days in a 180 day period only.  No, you can’t come and work for 90 days and go home to return again for another 90…. Well you could if you held an Irish passport because Ireland is still in the EU.   Even so, you could stay for 180 days but after that you’d have to leave Spain for a further 180 days.  Nothing has changed there. If you were seriously considering staying and working in Spain during the cold weather at home, Id suggest December, January and February but be warned.  The holiday homes are not insulated and once the sun sets in the afternoon, it becomes pretty cold. You’ll need heaters, floor rugs, electric blanket, a heavy duvet and warm clothes.  Not that difficult. Once all that is arranges you’ll be all set to work and reside in Spain from your cosy home. Daytime is usually lovely.  Night time can be very cold or sometimes not so cold. No guarantees!

Thx for your reply.  I will look on the website but seems to say my employer has to agree it.   I’ve had my place nearly 7 years and go regularly in all months.

I will look into this further but no guarantees obviously.

Thank you for your help
