Hi can anyone advise me if there is any celebrations going on in Torrevieja on the 6th of January?. I remember many years ago going to the square near the church and seeing a nativity scene and then a real camel bringing presents and the police throwing sweets into the streets for the kids. Does any of this still take place?. I’m in Spain for the 6 and would like to take my daughter

The Three kings arrive in Torrevieja around 17.30 at the port but your best place to view the entire parade is at the Plaza  de Constitution that is where the big church and the Christmas tree is, if you stand on the steps with you back to the church near to the Christmas tree you get a fairly  uninterupted view ,if you need to sit there will be chairs at the front on the street but you will pay for them.If you have children  take some plastic  bags with you as they will be throwing lots of sweets around.Be prepared for a long evening and wrap up as it will be cold .I hope you have a nice evening ,if you are going by car go early  and park in the car park near you the fairground.

Hmm, I'm arriving at Alicante airport on the afternoon of the 6th.  I hadn't realised the day was a public holiday so I hope the airport bus to Torrevieja is running as normal.  I wonder if the taxis put up their prices for the day as well?

Shouldn’t imagine there would be a problem mid afternoon though.  Only used it once for an evening trip and was annoyed to see it sailing past the end of my road so I had to get the bus back out again.  Suppose I could have asked the driver to let me off at La Siesta but I presumed it was a no-stopping service
